I was amazed by the sight of these piles of expensive bikes lying on the grass. By the end of the journey, of course, this scene had repeated itself over and over, and wasn't nearly as interesting. John and I did learn to teepee our bikes together -- leaning them against each other so that they stood up by themselves.
